This is the Lord’s Day: “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most high: To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.” Ps.92:1-2

From the Valley of Vision, a collection of Puritan Prayers and Devotions by A.Bennett

Lord, high and holy, meek and lowly,
Thou has brought me to the valley of vision,
where I live in the depths but see thee in the heights;
hemmed in by mountains of sin I behold
Thy glory.

Let me learn by paradox
that the way down is the way up,
that to be low is to be high,
that the broken heart is the healed heart,
that the contrite spirit is the rejoicing spirit,
that the repenting soul is the victorious soul,
that to have nothing is to possess all,
that to bear the cross is to wear the crown,
that to give is to receive,
that the valley is the place of vision.

Lord, in the daytime stars can be seen from deepest wells,
deepest wells,
and the deeper the wells the brighter
Thy stars shine;

Let me find Thy light in my darkness,
Thy life in my death,
that every good work or thought found in me
Thy joy in my sorrow,
Thy grace in my sin,
Thy riches in my poverty
Thy glory in my valley.

My second thought as I begin this new blog contains a challenge to my new readers. You are hereby challenged to guess why I have named this site CJTs3Rs. I am not so interested in the “CJT” part, as in the “3Rs” part. To the person who can correctly identify what these three “R’s” are, I promise a prize. Yes, it is my first “give-away” (Maybe my last too!). So, go on, guess away. I will be anxiously awaiting your replies! While I polish the prize!

Welcome to my first attempt at the bloggers world! I have decided to start a personal blog, but I want to make it clear that my goal is not self-promotion. Hopefully this blog will say little about me, except to reveal what I find interesting, informing, and inviting. I am a Reformed Christian, and therefore this blog will reveal my love for my sovereign Savior, His sovereign grace, and His sovereign glory – and everything that promotes these! I desire to post information and links that advance the things that are dear to my heart and that I believe other Reformed Christians should know about. I hope that you will follow along, in order to stand with me and help me stand for the 3 R’s.

Welcome to This is your first post. Edit or delete it and start blogging!
